Greetings from the International Students and Scholars Center at Arizona State University. We want to invite you to participate in some exciting opportunities taking place this spring.
Global Professional Preparation Academy (GPPA) The ISSC’s Global Professional Preparation Academy is a semester-long series for students to build their professional portfolios through workshops hosted by the ISSC, Career Services, the W.P. Carey School of Business and other ASU departments. The GPPA is designed and structured to aid students in achieving both academic and career success through training that will give them the A-Z on how to create their professional profile. The GPPA will have workshops covering topics like resume, cover letter, interview, how to network, and much more. The focus of this program will be to help students gain the skills needed for successfully applying to on-campus jobs, with additional support on building their long-term professional development. |

Global Peer Mentor Program The Global Peer Mentor Program connects first-year international students with current students as mentors. You can meet with your mentor regularly to get your questions answered and hear insights from them during your first semester at ASU. They will host a weekly conversational hour with drinks starting the 2nd week of classes. |

Inclusive Leadership Certificate (ILC) The Inclusive Leadership Certificate program is designed to foster greater intercampus collaboration and support the development of inclusive leadership skills in ASU’s graduate students, through the ILC, both domestic and international graduate students. WHAT will you need to do?Students receive a certificate after earning three (3) of the five (5) leadership badges over one semester. Leadership badges can be earned individually without intent to receive a certificate.
Depending on the program selected, participate in person, online, or in hybrid environments. Look in our modules to find the date, time, and location of each workshop or recorded session. ISSC Immigration Series The ISSC Immigration Series offers students the opportunity to learn how to successfully maintain their immigration record. Topics include off-campus work authorization, requesting a reduced course load and changing your degree program. If you miss a session, you can watch it on the ISSC YouTube channel. |

Learn Arizona Series The Learn Arizona Workshop Series offers international students and scholars the opportunity to learn about the U.S. and Arizona. Each session covers a different topic like housing, local transportation, what to eat and where to go. |

ISSC Volunteering Are you interested in learning more about volunteering at the ISSC? Come to our informational session about what it means to be an ISSC volunteer, expectations, possible activities and why it can be good for you! |

Global Talks Each week your Global Peer mentors will host Global Talks, a time for you to talk about helpful topics with fellow international students and ISSC staff members. These events are in an open space, giving you the opportunity to meet fellow students, learn about living in the U.S., and get information on other relevant topics. |

Global Friends Global Friends is an opportunity for international and domestic students to meet and develop friendships through conversations and global experiences. First-year international students and students interested in studying abroad are invited to attend, get to know each other, practice various languages, and learn more about global travels. |

International Graduate Resource Hub Please enroll in our resource hub to help you navigate not only ASU resources, but also community and local resources as well post discussion questions, and get direct tips and tricks from current international ASU students through an interactive resource hub. In addition to these great opportunities, you can attend any of the events and programs offered by the ISSC. There is always something happening no matter which campus you are at.
