IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING USCIS FORM I-765
USCIS has published a final rule indicating that the filing fee for the Form I-765, used for Pre-OPT, Post-OPT and STEM OPT applications, will increase beginning April 1st.
The new Form I-765 filing fee for the online USCIS application will be $470.
Spring 2024 graduates planning to apply for Post-OPT this semester are encouraged to submit their application to USCIS before April 1st. Please refer to our Post-OPT webpage for guidance on obtaining an I-20 with a Post-OPT recommendation.
Ensure you have received a Post-OPT recommendation from the ISSC through our MyISSC eForm portal before submitting your application to USCIS. Remember, ISSC has a 7-business-day processing time for all eForm requests.
Additionally, as a reminder, Premium Processing fees have increased effective February 26th. The new fee for OPT/STEM OPT under Premium Processing will be $1685. Note that applying for premium processing does not expedite the issuance of your EAD card.
